It's raining in New York City, mes auteurs, which (to me) means: movie day!
Now, I know not everyone is as big a nerd as I am, so I understand if you only have a vague familiarity with (or have never even heard of) the Green Lantern. But he's been my favorite superhero since I was a kid (occasionally taking second place to Batman), and I am really, really excited that this movie is coming out.
David Kazzie lives in Virginia with his wife and two kids, and by day, he works as a lawyer for the state. In addition to working on fiction, he writes a weekly humor blog (http://wahoocorner.blogspot.com). He's also the author of the "So You Want to Go to Law School" video, which has received more than 1 million hits on YouTube.
I've got a short one for you today, friends and foes, made up of only my favorites. I drew your attention to the Huxley/Orwell smack down yesterday, and I think that society is doomed—doomed, I tell you! Did you ever think we would live in an age where 1984 was the better of two evils? The evil-est of evils, I would say, is probably this not-so-great Gatsby video game. Gatsby was never lame, darlings. And when I read this article about the other evil of pastel book covers, all I could think of was a Mommy Dearest style, "No more pink covers!"
