I generally only think a season or so ahead when it comes to my own book-buying, so I've mostly been looking at fall 2010 (though if you're the plan-ahead type, Roger Ebert's memoir is due out in fall 2011). Personally, I'm most interested in the new Stephen King, the upcoming lost encyclopedia, former President Bush's memoir, and the paperback edition of Jack Spicer's My Vocabulary Did This to Me (which is, incidentally, one of my favorite titles of all time).
To a lesser extent, I'm also kind of curious about Sarah Palin's new book, but since I haven't yet bought or read the last one, I figure it'll be awhile before I get around to it.
What about you, gentle readers?
NIGHTSHADE by Andrea Cremer and MATCHED by Ally Condie.
ReplyDeleteI think Roger Ebert's a great writer and inspiring thinker, I'm eager to read his book. I've been following his movie reviews online since the mid-90s, and while I don't always agree with his ratings, he always expresses his viewpoint well.
ReplyDeleteI hope the LOST encyclopedia isn't a list of unresolved questions. I'm looking forward to a satisfying conclusion to the saga...if not, I'll be tempted to boycott all future works of Cuse, Abrams, and Lindelof out of pure frustration and disappointment.
MOCKINGJAY -- it's the first book I've preordered in years.
ReplyDeleteTHE SCORCH TRIALS - James Dashner. That guys writing floats my boat.
ReplyDeleteStephen Sondheim's memoir, FINISHING THE HAT. It's the first of two volumes. I'm soooo excited.
ReplyDeleteAnd definitely MOCKINGJAY as well! I might have to get one Kindle copy and one hardcopy so that Husband and I don't have to fight over it. ;)
I'm partial to gritty cop dramas. John Sandford's new Storm Prey is coming out soon. Also I'm hearing great buzz over Justin Cronin's The Passage.
ReplyDeleteTHE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST.

I believe Gail Carriger's BLAMELESS is coming out around then, so I'm quite looking forward to that. (I've been a bit remiss in getting to CHANGELESS, though, but as I loved SOULLESS, I plan to remedy that soon.)
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, LOST ENCYCLOPEDIA HECK YES!
I've heard there will be a new Robert B. Parker novel released this fall. I'll be buying that, for sure. As for anything by Palin, I wouldn't buy even a paperback to line the cat's litter box.
ReplyDeleteMine! Pick me!!! Course it's been a while since you were a 16 yo girl, so it may not be your thing. ;P For those of you who are a 16 yo girl, it's PERSONAL DEMONS. And I'm happy to see my crit partners book up top in the comments too--NIGHTSHADE by Andrea Cremer!
