I have the day off work today, mes auteurs, and so PMN will be taking a one-day hiatus as well. Feel free to frolic in the comments, and I'll be back tomorrow!
I'm sending out queries tomorrow after sitting on my finished MS for a few months and revising it ONE MORE TIME (glad I did- the extra polish was kinda nice). I have also revised and polished and play, play, played with my query letter for months. So, in the immortal works of Rafiki the monkey (come on, you know you saw The Lion King), "It is time".
Any advice, other than telling me it's okay to kind of want to throw up? :)
Frolicking... We had a hot topic come up recently about getting advice from amateur writers, if anyone's interested in joining the discussion here. Or, if you'd rather read something Joe posted on his other blog that's somewhat related to today's holiday, click here.
Kimberly, I was going to say it's okay to kind of want to throw up. :) The best I can come up with otherwise: expect rejections, don't give up, be patient, and work on another project. Good luck! ~L
My name is Eric, and I work in the sales department of a publishing house. There are a lot of blogs out there that cover the agenting and editorial aspects of book publishing, but here you'll find out what happens to your book after it's been acquired.
On Fridays, recovering publishing insider Laura writes round-ups. She also posts over on Combreviations.

Kimberly,
I was going to say it's okay to kind of want to throw up. :) The best I can come up with otherwise: expect rejections, don't give up, be patient, and work on another project.
Good luck!

It's been a long time since I've frolicked. Sort of like skipping. ::shrug:: Maybe it's one of those things that you don't ever really forget, eh?
ReplyDeleteI shall endeavor to frolic, now. :)
