In Blackest Night

It's raining in New York City, mes auteurs, which (to me) means: movie day!

Now, I know not everyone is as big a nerd as I am, so I understand if you only have a vague familiarity with (or have never even heard of) the Green Lantern. But he's been my favorite superhero since I was a kid (occasionally taking second place to Batman), and I am really, really excited that this movie is coming out.

June 17th!

  1. What? No comments? Finally, a possibly decent movie about a Justice League member who's not Batman or Superman, and no one has a comment?

    Personally, I can't wait.

  2. Holding my breath and praying they do it justice (no pun intended). The trailers give me hope. While my heart will always lie with Marvel, I was a big fan of GL (well, of Hal Jordan. Kind of like The Doctor, we all have "our" GL, eh?) Always loved when GL and Green Arrow would pair up.

  3. I'm with you. I also have a good vibe on THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA.

  4. I guess I'm a nerd too, because I love movies. That's my 'Happy Place', pure escapism. Looking forward to 'The Green Lantern'. Certainly the trailer rocks, if that's any indication.

  5. I can't wait for this one! I just watched Thor. I know, Marvel. But still. Lots of superhero movies coming soon.

  6. Ryan Reynolds in tights. Won't missed it.

  7. I was a Marvely guy. DC only hooked me with Batman and by the time they destroyed Gotham with earthquakes, I had grown tired of all the crossovers.

There are some DC heroes I didn't read that pique my interest (Specter comes to mind), but for some reason, Green Lantern was never one of them. It might be that the first issue I picked up had the real dickish lantern being all dickish, so now I associate it with the whole line.

Despite the horrible quality of the second half of Wolverine: Origins, I wanted a Deadpool movie so bad! He's one of my favorite marvel characters.

  8. And Kate ain't wrong about the super hero movies. Just from DC and Marvel alone we have Thor, Captain America, X-Men First Class, and Green Lantern all coming out this summer.

  9. I did not know about Green Lantern until I met my husband. Now I find myself looking forward to this movie too! Should be a good one!

  10. Fingers crossed, they have been doing somewhat better with comic inspired movies...
